Fostering UNITY strengthens foster families and youth across Los Angeles County with practical, trauma-informed support. We step in when families need it most—stabilizing placements, preventing crises, and ensuring children grow up in safe, loving, and lasting homes.

Program Coordinator
Location: US - Remote (serving Los Angeles County programs)
Position Type: Part-time, Non-Exempt
Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with 1-hour lunch break
Compensation:$17.27-$20/hour (based on experience)

Job Description:
Join our team as a Program Coordinator and play a pivotal role in supporting our programs that provide direct services to foster youth and caregivers across Los Angeles County. Your primary focus will be to strengthen program delivery by supporting staff, streamlining processes, managing communication, and working directly with those in the foster care system helping to ensure participants receive timely resources and advocacy.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the foster care community. You’ll help ensure our programs are running smoothly day-to-day while also contributing ideas and energy to expand our impact.
Your Role:
The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and detail-oriented, with strong communication and multitasking skills. You’ll manage program logistics, assist with data tracking, help create content and outreach materials, and provide behind-the-scenes support so our staff and volunteers can focus on serving youth and families.
You’ll receive guidance from the Program Director and leadership team, but the ability to take initiative and keep projects moving independently will be key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Support: Assist with the coordination of day-to-day program activities and services for foster youth and caregivers.
Participant Communication: Provide clear and timely communication with caregivers, youth, and community partners to ensure smooth participation in programs.
Program Resource Coordination: Manage and distribute program supplies, materials, and resources for staff and participants.
Document Preparation: Draft, edit, and format reports, training handouts, and caregiver/youth-facing materials.
Content Creation & Outreach Support: Assist in creating flyers, social media posts, and other program-related communications to promote engagement.
Data Collection & Reporting: Track attendance, outcomes, and other program metrics to support evaluation and quality improvement.
Event & Meeting Coordination: Support logistics for caregiver support groups, youth events, staff trainings, and community gatherings.
File & Record Management: Organize and maintain accurate participant records, program files, and attendance logs.
Research & Resource Development: Identify new resources, community supports, and best practices to strengthen program offerings.
Project Support: Provide assistance on special initiatives, pilot programs, and new service rollouts.
Stakeholder Communication: Support collaboration with schools, county staff, and community partners to strengthen services.
Program Leadership Scheduling Support: Manage the Program Clinical Director’s schedule related to program meetings, supervision, and partner coordination.
General Administrative Support: Provide additional support to program leadership as needed to ensure successful delivery of services.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old
Preferred: Reside in California (open to candidates in Texas or Nebraska)
1+ year of administrative or program coordination experience
Highly proficient with Google Suites (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)
Comfortable with conferencing platforms (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, etc.)
Familiarity with Canva or other creative platforms
Experience working remotely and attending professional online meetings
Experience with social media platforms and basic marketing tasks
Excellent written communication skills
Strong organization and project management abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to engage diverse groups
Detail-oriented, resourceful, and self-starting
Affinity for data management
Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Nonprofit Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Post-hire: Mandated Reporter training and any other training required

Job Description:
Case Manager – Complex Care supports children and families in our Therapeutic Shelter Home (TSH), Therapeutic Foster Home (TFH), and other specialized programs. This role ensures youth with significant medical, developmental, or behavioral needs—and their caregivers—receive high-quality, coordinated services.
You’ll work closely with the Program Clinical Director, caregivers, and partners to stabilize placements, connect families to resources, and provide direct support.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide case management and support for children and caregivers in TSH, TFH, and related programs.
Maintain regular contact with families; offer coaching, guidance, and emotional support.
Facilitate caregiver support groups and training.
Coordinate wraparound services (medical, therapeutic, school, community).
Collaborate with DCFS, schools, medical providers, and community partners.
Participate in team meetings (CFTs, IEPs, etc.) and advocate for children and families.
Respond to urgent or crisis situations to help stabilize placements.
Keep accurate case records and service logs; ensure compliance with regulations.
Support transitions between TSH, TFH, and permanent placements.
Carry out other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old
Preferred: Reside in California (open to candidates in Texas or Nebraska)
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field (Master’s preferred)
At least 2 years of case management or child welfare experience (preferably with foster youth/high-needs populations)
Familiarity with therapeutic foster care and trauma-informed practices
Comfortable facilitating caregiver support groups and trainings
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work across diverse groups
Crisis response skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
Ability to maintain confidentiality, data security, and use sound judgment
Comfortable with case tracking and documentation systems; affinity for data management
Tech proficiency: Google Suite, conferencing platforms (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams), and basic remote work tools
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
Additional Requirements
Pre-hire: Pass comprehensive background check
Post-hire: Mandated Reporter training and any other training required
Desired Skills:
Working knowledge of LA County DCFS policies and procedures.
Experience supporting caregivers in therapeutic or specialized foster care.
